Markham is one of the nicest overall areas in the Greater Toronto Area.  The combination of residential areas and parkland make it a desirable place to live.  Markham is located in the northeast corner of the GTA and it’s location allows people to enjoy a little more open space then what the big city of Toronto is able to offer. There is still even some land that is not been developed and which is evidence of the opportunity of affordable rental accommodation.  Markham is also home to some of the nicest parkland in the GTA and provides a great schooling system for every student from preschool to high school.

Located within Markham is the town of Unionville.  This tiny town replicates what a small town is like in the rural areas of Ontario.  It has one small main street that is decorated with old-fashioned architecture and a great number of flowers throughout the summer season.  The main street is located just off of Highway 7 and is a block west of Kennedy Rd.  The Street is packed with a number of small shops and restaurants and also has a few coffee shops.

The centre of Markham can be found in the area of Highway 7 and McCowan Rd.  Located here is the largest shopping complex is Markham called the Markville Shopping Centre.  This mall has all the large stores and a fair number of smaller unique stores.  Right next to the shopping centre is Markham Centennial Arena and pool.  This complex is home to a number of Markham’s sports organizations and always offers something to do.

Markham is also home to one of Toronto’s smaller airports.  Located at Highway 7 and Highway 404, Buttonville airport is a small airport that every private pilot should know about.  The airport provides air access to entire eastern side of the GTA, as Pearson International Airport is located in the western portion of the GTA.

Markham is a great area to live in for the renter who wants to live relatively close to downtown Toronto and still maintain a bit of that country feeling.  This area like most of the areas in the GTA has a wide price range for rental accommodations that is surely to accommodate everyone’s financial situation.
